Prodding at the soft taco she just ordered, Corine Ray was certainly not in the mood to be up this early. Given, it was about noon, but after a bonfire and a short open mic night the day before, she didn't get enough sleep because of the awesome day that she had. The best cure for sleep deprivation? Taco Bell, naturally. Seeing that many people didn't actually enjoy the supposed Mexican delicacies that they served, Corine found it to be the perfect place to just sit back and enjoy her lunch in peace. She didn't want any kids talking to her. She really didn't feel like being on the camp grounds anywhere near anybody. It was so unlike her to be this way, but recent problems made it so. Corine was usually so happy-go-lucky, but lately she wasn't feeling so gun-ho about life. In fact, life kind of sucked for her at the moment and she forgot the true reason she was at Camp Real Cali and that was for the music that she adored so much, not a boy that she was still chasing after.
Jay Scott. Why was he such a problem to Corine? Why did she still insist on clinging on to him? Why did she still love him? He made her so happy when they were dating and she gave him up for the stupidest reason. Not having time for him? Could an excuse get any dumber that that? Everything was going so well for them. He always remembered her birthday, he brought her soup when she was sick and he always supported her at shows. Most of all, he made her feel beautiful and smart, like any girl should feel. Now that he was gone, half of her world seemed to fade away, but it shouldn't be like this. Corine was the one who gave him up. But the love for Jay Scott still remained, torturing and hurting Corine from the inside out. Even her best friend Siobhan couldn't help her through this. She didn't know what was going on in Corine's head, so there was no way that she could help.
So there she sat, oozing the third pack of hot sauce onto her already drenched and tiny taco before picking it up in her hands. Biting into the soft tortilla shell, she sighed at the flavor. No matter how low quality the food was, no one could deny how amazing it tasted on a bad day. Now all the was left for Corine to do was to finish up her soda and head back to camp before her music rehearsal started. She didn't feel like going to a lesson or seeing that boy-stealing harlot, Layla, but unfortunately, she would have to. She lingered a while, staring at the wall before her with her deep brown eyes before looking down and taking another quick bite of her food.
